Helmed by Todd Louiso, the film centers on Marc Pease (Schwartzman), a man 10 years out of high school and still living in the past, when he was the star in his high school’s musicals. During the course of one day, as Pease’s former teacher/mentor Mr. Gribble (Stiller) oversees the opening night of another show, Pease finally exorcises his demons and realizes there’s more to life than Broadway artistry.
Kendrick, who plays a high school senior romantically involved with both Schwartzman and Stiller’s characters, brings Broadway credentials to the role. She was nominated for a best actress Tony for her turn in the musical “High Society.”
Michael London, David Rubin and Bruna Papandrea are producing.
Jacob Koskoff and Louiso penned the screenplay.
Kendrick recently starred in “Rocket Science” for Picturehouse, which premiered at in January the Sundance Film Festival.
She is repped by APA and Kim Matuka at OTG.
