Scott Pilgrim Vs. The Apple Store: The Showdown in SoHo!

. . . “The first time I met Edgar, it was like the earliest meeting I’d ever had. It was at 6:30 in the morning because I was getting on a plane to shoot the first ‘Twilight’ film,” explained Anna Kendrick.

Despite the inconveniently early morning meeting, she was excited when Wright explained the project to her and who would be cast as the evil exes.

“Just the idea of [Edgar] choosing young Hollywood and having them fight to the death for his amusement — all of a sudden I saw him as the evil puppet master of this whole thing,” she laughed.

Kendrick said of her character, Scott’s younger sister Stacey, “I feel like Stacey is sort of the voice in the back of everybody’s head that tells you this is a really messed-up decision you’re making, and you should not do this. But it’s the same voice that you know you’re not going to listen to. … She knows [Scott’s] not going to listen, and because she’s a younger sister I think she sort of takes pleasure in watching him flounder around in awkward situations.”

Kendrick even spoke to O’Malley’s real-life sister, Stacey, who was the basis for her character, in order to get some advice.

“The real Stacey told me I should try to play it ‘more half-Asian,’” she laughed. “I did my best.”

“You were doing it full Asian at first,” interjected Cera.

“Yeah, it was a mess,” Kendrick answered.

She then revealed that the name tag her character wore in the film had belonged to the real Stacey when she had worked at the same coffee shop. Wright pointed out that, underneath the name, the tag reads: “Certified Coffee Agent.”

Kendrick also joked that the film’s action sequences were very easy for her as her character was only a witness to the fights and never a participant. …

“I probably spent about four weeks [shooting]on it,” Anna Kendrick commented. “But … I think about three weeks were kind of in the background of a fight scene.”{mtv.com}

Anna is in San Francisco with the Scott pilgrim cast beginning the press tour. Today they stopped by The Sarah & Vinnie show at Alice Radio and did a cast interview. Anna talks about her brother, not being vegan, and sharing a flask with Meryl Streep at the Academy Awards (!). I’ve added 9 High Quality behind the scene snaps of Anna at Alice, and you can listen to the interview below:

Scott Pilgrim Interviews

Looks like Anna some junket video interviews today with her Scott Pilgrim cast. In the Access Hollywood video Anna derails the rumors that she will be in “Paper Wings” and says she was just standing in for Reece Witherspoon at the reading because Reece is out of town. This makes sense because Anna has been compared to Reece lots acting-wise and was even rumored to be Jason Reitman’s original pick for Natalie Keener in Up in the Air. In the Popsugar interview, Anna talks mainly about working with Michael Cera. I’ve also added one more Access Hollywood video from back at a Pre-Oscar party in March, which I don’t remember seeing before.

Anna Kendrick was recently spotted in the company of A-listers Tom Cruise, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, leaving the Saddle Ranch in West Hollywood, Calif. earlier this month, but rather than jumping on board a major film project, it appears the “Twilight Saga” beauty was simply performing a favor for a friend.

“It was just a table read,” the actress told Access Hollywood of the meet-up, which also included former “Heroes” star Milo Ventimiglia and “Grey’s Anatomy” hunk Eric Dane. “And you know, it’s a movie that’s in production so I’m not really at liberty to talk about it.”

While unable to reveal details of the project, Anna did reveal that a big leading lady was involved.

“I think I can safely say I’m not in it. I’m just standing in for Reese Witherspoon,” she noted. “They just asked me to do it and I was like, ‘Hell, yeah!’ It was fun, it was really fun.”

While she may not be able to add Tom and Will to her list of celebrity co-stars presently, Anna recently added Michael Cera and Jason Schwartzman for the upcoming “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.”

“I’m Scott’s little sister, Stacey Pilgrim,” Anna told Access. “I mostly just call him whenever he makes a love-related decision to judge him.”

“Stacey thinks of herself as a moral compass,” Anna added of her opinionated character. “But Scott doesn’t listen to her.”

The film, due in theaters on August 13, follows Scott as he fights off new girlfriend Ramona’s seven evil exes, and involves a lot of fighting. Anna, however, managed to avoid physical conflict entirely, leaving her bruise free.

“Everybody looks so bad-a** in the finished product it’s like, ‘Awww! I might have suffered through 14 hours in a harness,” she said. {Access Hollywood}

Comic Con Video Interviews

And the media from Comic Con 2010 continues with lots more video clips coming out today, including USA Today at the T-shirt making booth with a very bubbly Anna and Brandon Routh, and a nice little chat with Scott pilgrim director Edgar Wright and co-stars Michael Cera and Kiernan Culkin thanks to Entertainment Weekly:
