Casting News: “Table 19″

I just picked up some casting news that seemed to have gone under the radar. A few sites reported back in November that Anna was attached to a film called “Table 19″. The comedy, centered around a wedding, was reported to be in pre-production back in 2011 with director Jeffrey Blitz, Anna’s Rocket Science director. Tina Fey and Steve Carrell were also in talks to join. Anna would play Eloise, who ends up the ‘losers’ table after “being removed from her maid-of-honor position following her break-up with the wedding’s best man.” We’ll see if anything moves forward with this film.

Anna Kendrick Books Herself A Seat At “Table 19″

Anna Kendrick will star in the wedding comedy TABLE 19, with an offer out to Steve Carell and interest in Tina Fey to join as well.

The film plays on the a situation we’ve all been in before – being stuck at the ragtag “leftovers” table of single people at a wedding. Kendrick will play Eloise, who ends up at said table after being removed from her maid-of-honor position following her break-up with the wedding’s best man. If they join the film, Carrell and Fey would play a bickering and dysfunctional couple. I think I speak for most of the world when I say I’m a big fan of these three and can’t wait to see the film come together. Mark and Jay Duplass wrote the script and were originally on board to helm as well before Jeffrey Blitz took over directing duties.

Shawn Levy and Tom McNulty will produce.

Kendrick has recently starred in “End of Watch”, “Pitch Perfect” and “Drinking Buddies” and will next appear in “The Last Five Years” and “Get a Job.”

“Office” alum Carell was most recently in “The Way, Way Back” and lent his voice to “Despicable Me 2.” He can next be seen in “Foxcatcher” and in the comedy sequel “Anchorman: The Legend Continues.”

With “SNL” and “30 Rock” behind her, Fey last appeared in “Admission” and can next be seen in “Muppets Most Wanted” and “This is Where I Leave You.”

Kendrick is repped by CAA while Carell and Fey are with WME. {tracking-board.com}

Shawn Levy to produce Fox Searchlight comedy

“Spellbound” director Jeffrey Blitz is negotiating to direct laffer “Table 19″ for Fox Searchlight.

Shawn Levy will produce through his 21 Laps banner.

Pic, written by Jay and Mark Duplass, originally had the duo attached to helm.

Described as a singles-at-the-wedding pic, the ensemble comedy follows a group of strangers who meet at the “losers” table at a wedding. Told from their perspective, the story explores what marriage means to those on the sidelines.

Blitz’s directing credits on the TV side include “The Office” and MTV pilot “Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous.”

He also directed docu “Lucky,” released last year.

Levy’s also had a busy year. The multihyphenate recently signed on to direct “The Three Misfortunes of Geppetto,” written by Michael Vukadinovich, for 20th Century Fox. He’s also attached to helm the Max Landis-penned “Frankenstein” for Fox and Davis Entertainment.

Fox-based 21 Laps is also shooting “Neighborhood Watch” in Atlanta and is producing the Michael Sucsy-helmed “Rosaline.”

Blitz is repped by CAA. {variety.com}

Pitch Perfect Holiday Album Expected Dec 2013

‘Pitch Perfect’ Holiday Album Due By End of 2013: ‘Christmas Classics’ to Get A Cappella Treatment from Movie’s Cast Following Surprise Success of Anna Kendrick’s ‘Cups’

The cast of the hit musical comedy “Pitch Perfect” are recording a holiday album, which is sure to hit shelves before the 2013 Christmas season. (Photo : Mario Anzuori/REUTERS)

“Pitch Perfect” fans have something to look forward to other than the planned, 2015 sequel to the hit musical comedy. According to actress Hana Mae Lee, a “Pitch Perfect” holiday album is on its way, with all new recordings from the all-star cast.

In an interview with MTV News, Lee dished that the actors/singers from the 2012 film are in the process of recording a new record. “We have a holiday album coming out, so stay tuned,” she teased. “There are Christmas classics. I’ll be singing ‘Silent Night.’ I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a cappella, even the percussion. It’s all us, so it’s going to be sweet though, because it’s going to sound like there’s other things, but it’s all us.”

The coming of a “Pitch Perfect” Christmas album should come as no surprise to fans. Since coming out in October of last year, the movie has slowly been building a larger fanbase and greater success.

“Pitch Perfect” won four surfboards at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards over the weekend. The flick took home accolades for Choice Movie – Comedy, and Rebel Wilson, Skylar Astin and Adam Devine took home acting surfboards for their respective roles in the movie.

Meanwhile, the soundtrack to the musical has been a massive success, and has sold over 838,000 copies in 2013. Additionally, a remix of Anna Kendrick’s “Cups” has climbed the Billboard Charts, peaking at No. 6 last week.

More information on the holiday album has yet to come, but it’s sure to drop before the Christmas season gets in full swing, allowing fans to have their stockings filled with sweet, a cappella music. {mstarz.com}

New Project! Anna Joins ‘Life After Beth’

Anna has been cast in Life After Beth, a comedy about zombies! Aubrey Plaza, Anna’s co-star in Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World and good friend, will star in the film as the girlfriend that comes back from the dead, while Molly Shannon and Cheryl Hines have also just been cast. The director is Jeff Baena (writer of I Heart Huckabees) and filming is already under way in Los Angeles!

Zombie Comedy ‘Life After Beth’ Adds Cast As Production Begins

As flicks about the undead continue to disinter, Anna Kendrick, Molly Shannon and Cheryl Hines have boarded I Heart Huckabees writer Jeff Baena’s directorial debut. Shooting is underway in Los Angeles on Life After Beth, which stars Amazing Spider-Man 2 heavy Dane DeHaan as a guy mourning the death of his girlfriend (Aubrey Plaza). But when Beth comes back to life, he tries to live their relationship to the fullest — until things take a turn for the much worse. John C. Reilly, Paul Reiser and Matthew Gray Gubler in the pic, which Baena also wrote. Liz Destro and Michael Zakin are producing the film alongside American Zoetrope, Starstream Entertainment, and Abbolita Pictures. Charles Bonan, Tim Nye, and Kim Leadford exec produce. CAA and WME are co-repping the domestic rights to the pic. Beth is the second horror comedy to flesh out its cast in the past week; Elijah Wood’s Cooties tapped Rainn Wilson, Alison Pill and others on Friday. {deadline.com}

Super stoked for this! Anna’s going to be super busy as she just finished filming The Last 5 Years today in New York.

‘Cups’ Reaches Billboard’s 100 Top 10!

This week, ‘Cups’, Anna’s hit song from Pitch Perfect hit the Billboard 100′s top ten songs played on the radio! This is a huge feat considering Anna is solely an actress, and songs from movie soundtracks don’t generally place nearly this high on the list. Add popstar to Anna’s resume – go girl! (And lets get Cups to number one!)

How Anna Kendrick’s Soundtrack Sleeper ‘Cups’ Got to the Top of the Charts

As reported yesterday, Anna Kendrick reaches the Billboard Hot 100′s top 10 at last with “Cups (Pitch Perfect’s When I’m Gone),” which rises 13-10 in its 28th week on the chart.

Since it’s been almost a year since her song was released via the box office hit “Pitch Perfect,” and since the track is still finding new audiences thanks to its continued inroads at radio, let’s look back at the pop culture and chart odyssey that “Cups” has taken on its way to reaching the Hot 100′s top tier this week.

Aug. 9, 1985
Kendrick is born in Portland, Maine. (Why not start at the beginning?)

1995 (-ish)
Kendrick catches a bus from Portland to New York to attend auditions, ultimately with her sights set on performing on Broadway. By 1998, at 12, she scores her first acting role, as Dinah, in the Broadway musical “High Society.” Her performance nets her a Tony Award nomination, making her the third-youngest Tony Award nominee ever.

(And now we fast-forward …)

Sept. 28, 2012
“Pitch Perfect” premieres in U.S. theaters. It ranks at No. 3 in its first weekend, grossing $14.8 million. It trails “Taken 2″ and “Hotel Transylvania” (neither of which, obviously, boasts a song keeping them in public consciousness long after like “Cups” has done for “Pitch Perfect,” reinforcing the staying power that a soundtrack hit can engender for a film).

October 4
Kendrick appears on CBS’ “Late Show With David Letterman” and shows off her dexterity at performing “Cups” as she does in “Pitch Perfect”…

Actually, let’s go way back to 1937 for a moment: In 2009, British act Lulu and the Lampshades unveiled its version (and unique cup-assisted performance style) of “When I’m Gone” as a reworking of the 1937 Appalachian folk song “Miss Me When I’m Gone” by J. E. Mainer’s Mountaineers. Anna Burden’s performance subsequently garnered attention on YouTube (3.7 million views to date), which led to front page placement on Reddit. Myriad other online covers followed.

“‘Cause I’m a huge loser, I thought the best way to spend an entire afternoon would be watching (Burden’s) video 50 times and teaching myself how to do it,” Kendrick told Letterman. When the film’s creative powers “found out I could, they wanted me to (perform) it in the movie.”

October 13
The “Pitch Perfect” soundtrack debuts on the Billboard 200 at No. 43 with 9,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

January 12, 2013
In its 1-minute-16-second-long soundtrack version, “Cups” enters the Hot 100 at No. 93. At the time, 69% of its chart points are due to digital sales, 31% to streaming and 0% to radio.

February 2
With the film having achieved continued box office success, the “Pitch Perfect” soundtrack spends its first of three weeks at its No. 3 Billboard 200 peak. It’s sold 772,000 to date (and jumps 20-13 on the current chart).

April 12
With the song in a new form (see next item), the official “Cups” video premieres. To date, it’s up to 29 million YouTube views.

April 20
“Cups” debuts on the Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart at No. 40 after Republic Records released a new, longer edit featuring much more instrumentation than on the almost all-a capella (a-”cup”-ella?) soundtrack version. “Anyone that has a preteen knows (‘Cups’),” Republic senior VP/radio and video promotion David Nathan beams to Billboard as the label begins promoting the song to radio. “‘Pitch Perfect’ is a cultural phenomenon and we’re very happy to be a part of it.”

JR Ammons, program director of Mainstream Top 40 reporter WZPL Indianapolis, says that despite initial apathy, he believes in the track’s potential as a radio hit. “I saw the movie when it came out and, honestly, the song didn’t stick out to me as something that I would be playing months later.

“I wouldn’t have thought about that song again after the movie… until my daughter learned the cup thing off YouTube and was singing it over and over and over in the house. Then, I come to work and see the single sales climb week after week in Indianapolis with zero radio airplay…

“Once you get away from the source of the song, it being from a movie about college freshmen, there’s nothing really that youthful-exclusive about it,” Ammon adds.

“No matter how I try to fight it, the hook is in my head every time it comes on our station.”

June 1
With radio playing the new edit, “Cups” reaches the Hot 100′s top 40 (rising 44-36) in its 21st week. (In addition to its digital single release, the new version appears on the EP Pitch Perfect: More From Pitch Perfect, which charges 139-119 on the Billboard 200 this week.)

June 22
“Pitch Perfect” makes its premium cable premiere on HBO. With the film having grossed $113 million worldwide to date, according to Box Office Mojo, the TV exposure can only help build the familiarity of “Cups,” especially among those who may not have seen the film in theaters.

July 8
The always Twitter-witty Kendrick marvels at the song’s new levels of airplay: “Holy s*** it’s happening. I’m hearing my song on the radio. Every music biopic ever has taught me this will lead to drugs and madness… #sweet”

This week
Climbing 13-10 in its 28th week, “Cups” completes the fourth-longest ascent to the top 10 for a woman in the Hot 100′s nearly 55-year history, bested only by Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” the steadiest riser among all acts (38 weeks; 2007), and Faith Hill’s “This Kiss” (30; 1998) and “The Way You Love Me” (29; 2000).

While Underwood and Hill reached the top 10 by seeing their songs start at country before scoring pop and adult radio airplay, the pure-pop “Cups” has made its journey via measured increasing sales and pop and adult radio’s interest following its instrument-infused edit.

“Cups” also claims its first top 10 placement on an airplay chart, as it bumps 11-9 on Adult Top 40. On Mainstream Top 40, it jumps 18-15. In its second week on Adult Contemporary, it lifts 25-22. In contrast to its debut week on the Hot 100 (see Jan. 12, above), radio is now a major driver of its success: 27% of its chart points stem from airplay, with 47% from sales and 26% from streaming.

In all, and given that its growth at radio is still continuing solidly, it appears that, to paraphrase the song, it’ll be a long time before “Cups” is gone.

Exclusive! Smash Star Jeremy Jordan Tapped to Star Opposite Anna Kendrick in The Last Five Years Film
The film version of ‘The Last Five Years’ has found its Jamie!

Is Jeremy Jordan’s career “moving too fast”? Not for us! Broadway.com has learned that the Newsies and Smash star is the frontrunner to play Jamie opposite Anna Kendrick’s Cathy in the upcoming film version of Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years.

The indie movie, directed by Richard LaGravanese, is an adaptation of the 2002 two-character musical that centers around the tumultuous relationship between Jamie, a writer, and Cathy, an aspiring actress, over the course of five years. The musical debuted in 2002 with Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott as stars. Despite a short run, The Last Five Years gained in popularity thanks to an acclaimed original cast recording and has become a staple in regional theaters and colleges. Brown is directing a new off-Broadway staging that will begin performances on March 7, starring Betsy Wolfe and Adam Kantor.

Jordan was nominated for a Tony Award for playing Jack Kelly in Newsies, a role that also earned him two 2012 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. He was also seen on Broadway in Rock of Ages, West Side Story and as legendary outlaw Clyde Barrow in Bonnie and Clyde. He made his feature film debut as Dolly Parton’s grandson in Joyful Noise and can currently be seen playing songwriter Jimmy Collins in the NBC musical drama Smash.

The Last Five Years is expected to start filming later this year.

Anna Kendrick & Jeremy Jordan: ‘Last 5 Years’ Movie Lovers!

Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan will officially be starring opposite each other in the film adaptation of the beloved musical, The Last 5 Years!

The 28-year-old Tony-nominated actor, who is currently starring on Smash, will play “Jamie, a rising novelist whose relationship with struggling actress Cathy (Kendrick) is explored through an unusual narrative device: His story unfolds in chronological order as the pair first meet, while hers unfolds in reverse starting at the end of their marriage,” according to Deadline.

“Its official!! I will be playing Jamie in The Last five Years film!! @AnnaKendrick47 Literally a dream come true :) ” Jeremy tweeted to confirm the news.

In case you want to see a live production of the musical, head on over to the Second Stage Theatre in New York City, where the first Off-Broadway production in many years will begin on March 7.

Anna Kendrick to Star in Film Adaptation of Off-Broadway Musical THE LAST FIVE YEARS

In a recent interview with Collider.com, ‘Beautiful Creatures’ director Richard LaGravenese revealed that he is currently working on an indie film adaptation of the off-Broadway musical THE LAST FIVE YEARS. The show appeared off-Broadway in 2002 and will be revived at New York’s Second Stage Theatre this April.

The love story is all-sung and features just two characters. “[It's] about a young man and young woman in their 20′s who meet, fall in love, get married and break up, all in the span of five years,” explains the director. “All of her songs start at the end of their relationship and go to the beginning, and all of his songs start at the beginning and go to the end…It goes back and forth like that.”

Written by Jason Robert Brown, The Last Five Years explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hyatt, a struggling actress. The show uses a form of storytelling in which Cathy’s story is told in reverse chronological order (beginning the show at the end of the marriage), and Jamie’s is told in chronological order (starting just after the couple have first met). The characters do not directly interact except for a wedding song in the middle as their timelines intersect.

Pitch Perfect – New Release Date & Clips

Pitch Perfect has pushed up its release date, and it will now be opening September 28th :D ! There is also a new clips featuring Anna, “Nodes”, and a hilarious MTV promo lip dub of Nicki Minaj Starships:

Universal Platforms Crowd-Pleaser ‘Pitch Perfect’ September 28

Universal Pictures will move up from an October 5 release date on Pitch Perfect and try to build word of mouth by platforming the picture in select theaters across North America on Friday, September 28. Studio and Gold Circle Films did this after strong feedback from early screenings that have already been held and which elicited high amounts of social media traffic — 90% of it positive according to monitoring company Fizziology. While major studios usually move like battleships (no pun intended) and don’t veer from wide-release plans, the feeling was that there was buzz to be built here.

I’m assured the studio isn’t dipping its toe in the water with an option to pull back on the original screen commitment if audiences yawn during the platform. Anna Kendrick stars as a young Barden University student who bonds with a group of girls with the same passion: singing. When she takes this a cappella singing group out of their world of traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of the cutthroat world of college music competitions. This could wind up either the coolest thing they’ll ever do or the most insane, and it will probably be a little of both. The film’s directed by Jason Moore, best known for Broadway’s Avenue Q.

“You have to be willing to break the rules for a film that you deeply love, and supporting Pitch Perfect in this unorthodox way is a result of our passion for the movie and confidence in its reception,” Universal distribution president Nikki Rocco said. “After every screening, we’ve seen levels of reaction similar to how audiences responded to American Pie and Bring It On, other comedies for a young audience that grew into great success stories for Universal.” {deadline.com}

New Role: “Drinking Buddies” !

Anna Kendrick Joins ‘Drinking Buddies’

The actress has signed up for a lead role in the indie comedy. Anna Kendrick will start shooting Drinking Buddies in Chicago later this month. Joe Swanberg is directing. Andrea Roa, Anish Savajani and Alica van Couvering are producing. The Up In The Air star has a slew of films coming out soon. Kendrick is one of the voices, along with Casey Affleck and Leslie Mann, in the stop motion animated ParaNorman, out in August. She also stars in the David Ayer-directed cop drama End of Watch, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, as well as the musical Pitch Perfect and the Robert Redford-directed political thriller The Company You Keep. Kendrick is repped by CAA and lawyer Todd Rubenstein. {deadline.com}

‘Drinking Buddies’ Buys a Round For Anna Kendrick

Raise a glass to Anna Kendrick!

The “Twilight” alum is certainly keeping busy lately with all sorts of film projects, and now she’s stopped by the bar to score another: “Drinking Buddies,” according to Deadline.

Not much is known about the indie comedy, though we assume it’s about a group of buddies who like to … well, drink together. The film is set to be directed by Joe Swanberg, a rather prolific filmmaker who’s made something of a name for himself in the mumblecore DIY genre (it’s probably no coincidence that the lo-fi auteur directed a segment in the upcoming analog horror movie, “V/H/S”).

Anna Kendrick has two upcoming films that will be promoted at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con: “ParaNorman,” the animated sci-fi film that hits theaters on Aug. 17, and “End of Watch,” the crime drama opening Sept. 28. She’s also got “Pitch Perfect” opening on Oct. 5 and will probably be unveiling Robert Redford’s “The Company You Keep” at Sundance next year.

Anna’s “Twilight” days seem to be over, and she’s not listed in the cast list of “Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” Have we indeed seen the last of Bella’s high school pal Jessica Stanley? All will be revealed when the final “Twilight” chapter opens on Nov. 16.

“Drinking Buddies” will commence with production in Chicago later this month. There are a few bars in the Windy City, if we remember correctly. {nextmovie.com}

Anna Buys New $1M L.A. Home

Anna bought a new home in Los Angeles Beachwood Canyon neighborhood for just over $1 million. The home features a “state of the art” kitchen, which is sure to be a plus for Anna since she loves to bake!

Miscellaneous > Unsorted > Anna’s L.A. Home

Up In the Air‘s Anna Kendrick is living the high life! The 26-year-old actress recently splurged on a brand new Los Angeles home.

Located in the quiet neighborhood of Beachwood Canyon, the “modest” home (at least for Hollywood’s standards) features a wood-burning fireplace, open French doors with patio access, two-car garage, and a state of the art all-white kitchen complete with marble counters and high-grade steel appliances.

How much did the Twilight cutie drop on her new pad?

According to Real Estalker, Kendrick purchased the home for $1,020,000.

The house itself also includes an impressive twisting wood staircase, a step-out balcony with panoramic city view, and a walk-in closet fit for an Oscar-nominated celeb like Anna herself. {celebuzz.com/}

BUYER: Anna Kendrick
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $1,020,000
SIZE: 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: It wasn’t so long ago that just about any ol’ reality tee-vee star and/or newly-rich neophyte Tinseltowner regularly (and perhaps foolishly) went out and dropped a couple million bucks on a flashy new house. The tide of that particular celebrity real estate trend has, perhaps, begun to turn as evidenced by the recent acquisition of a modestly sized Los Angeles, CA abode purchased—according to a well-connected source we’ll call Ivana Tellyousomething—for $1,020,000 by young, genuinely talented and cute as a button Oscar-nominated actress Anna Kendrick.

Unlike many young (h)actresses in Hollywood 26-year old Miss Kendrick can actually act and knows how to massage her quirky sense of comedic timing to great effect. At just 12 years old she launched to child stardom with a Tony nomination her Broadway debut in High Society followed a number of years later by a pair of Independent Spirit Award nominations for her silver screen roles in Camp (2004) and Rocket Science (2008). She’s a regular in the supernova-like successful—and presumably lucrative—Twilight Saga film franchise and she received Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations in 2010 for her supporting role in Up In The Air with George Clooney and Vera Farmiga. Her thespian chops have made her one of the the most in-demand young starlets in Tinseltown with starring roles in indie flicks such as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) and 50/50 (2011) plus a half a dozen or more projects in the hopper that include soon to be released films like The Company You Keep (with Robert Redford and Shia LaBeouf) and End of Watch (with Jake Gyllenhaal).

Property records and other online documentation Your Mama perused reveal the sellers of Miss Kendrick’s new krib picked up the property in June 2009 for $550,000 and transformed the existing, ramshackle shingled cottage into a quintessentially southern California soft-contemporary with airy (if somewhat compact) interior spaces that spill out to fenced and tree-ringed outdoor living areas.

Listing information for the expanded and completely rehabbed residence, perched above the y-shaped intersection of two quiet cul-de-sacs above Beachwood Canyon, does not indicate square footage but does show the re-conceived two-story structure has 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, an attached 2-car garage with additional off-street parking, and a loft-like living area.

Deliciously variegated hickory wood floors run throughout the dwelling that includes an open plan main living space. The petite-ish living area has a wood-burning fireplace, the dining area opens through French doors to a concrete patio and tiny triangular grass patch, and an essentially all-white center-island kitchen is equipped white cabinetry, white marble counter tops, a wide window with tree top view, and—natch—the expected full complement of high-grade stainless steel appliances.

Each of the two bedrooms on the main level have sky lights and private renovated terliting and bathing facilities. The master suite, accessed by way of a tightly twisting wood staircase, occupies the entire second floor and encompasses a bedroom area, adjoining sitting room/office, slender step-out balcony with panoramic city view, celebrity-sized walk-in closet, and a bathroom with separate, free-standing soaking tub and glass-enclosed shower. The person (or persons) responsible for the design and renovation of this house must have some sort of thick exhibitionist streak because the exterior wall of the shower is punctuated by a vast ankle-to above-the-head window that Your Mama would bet a dozen donuts Miss Kendrick will soon frost or closed up.

French doors in the kitchen and on either side of the fireplace in the living room lead out to a partially covered tree house-like deck with outdoor fireplace and overhead heaters for taking the damp chill of early mornings and cool evenings. {realestalker}

Anna Kendrick Joins “End of Watch”

Another new role for Anna! She will co-star in a drama called “End of Watch” alongside Jake Gyllenhaal! Super exciting :D !

Anna Kendrick and Natalie Martinez are in negotiations to co-star in “End of Watch” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena.

Pic will be written and directed by David Ayer.

Story follows the longtime partnership of two LAPD officers as they confront marriage, love, fatherhood and the harsh realities of the Los Angeles streets. Kendrick and Martinez will play the officers’ love interest.

Ayers and John Lesher will produce through Ayer’s Crave Films and Lesher’s Le Grisbi Productions.

Exclusive Films International is handling worldwide sales of the pic and the film is expected to go into production sometime this summer.

Kendrick can be seen next in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1″ as well as “50/50″ starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen.

Martinez was most recently seen as Det. Sanchez on ABC’s “Detroit 1-8-7.”

She is repped by CAA and Barnes, Morris, Mark, Yorn & Levine. Martinez is repped by WME and Kritzer Levine Wilkins Griffin Entertainment. {Variety}

Anna Kendrick (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) and Natalie Martinez (Death Race) are in talks to star in the gritty cop drama End of Watch. Directed by David Ayers (Street Kings), the two will join a bald-headed Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña. Ayers directs from a script that he wrote, which centers on the friendship between two seasoned police officers in Los Angeles. Variety reports that the actresses will play the love interests of Gyllenhaal and Peña, though doesn’t state which actress is paired up with which actor.

Ayer is no stranger to cop dramas, having made his directorial debut with 2005’s Harsh Times. He also penned the screenplays for The Fast and the Furious, Training Day and S.W.A.T. I’m a big fan of Kendrick’s, and Gyllenhaal can be great with good material, so hopefully everything comes together for End of Watch. {Collider}
