Anna Kendrick hits a fashion high note as she collects award for selling one million copies of her music single Cups

She blew audiences away with her folksy singing voice in the 2012 film Pitch Perfect.

So much so that Anna Kendrick’s rendition of a 1937 old-time song in the film has turned her into somewhat of a pop star.

The 27-year-old looked fresh-faced in a nude-coloured dress as she collected an award from iHeartRadio for selling one million copies of her single Cups in New York on Friday.

The Oscar-nominated actress looked gorgeous in the flouncy dress, which nipped in at the waist and featured a thin-strapped halter neck.

Anna added an unusual touch with dark brown brogues that added a schoolgirl touch to the outfit.

She wore her red hair in loose waves over her shoulders and kept her makeup natural, enhancing her porcelain complexion with a rosy pink lipstick.

Huge honour: Anna smiled proudly as she held up her award commemorating her phenomenal single sales

Anna was shown accepting the award for her single, which is a cover of Lulu and the Lampshades’ song Cups (You’re Gonna Miss Me), a rendition of a 1937 folk song.

The star sings the song in the hit movie Pitch Perfect, which sees her play Beca, a freshman at Barden University, who is cajoled into joining an all-girls’ a cappella singing group.

Anna performs the song when she auditions to join the group, and she is seen onstage using just a plastic cup and the stage floor as percussion.

Kendrick is no stranger to musical performances. Her first acting role was as Dinah in the Broadway musical High Society in 1998 when she was 12.

The performance won her a Theatre World Award, a Drama Desk Award, and Tony Award nominations, making her the third-youngest Tony Award nominee.

Kendrick went on to appear in a number of other theater productions, including the musical A Little Night Music, before making her film debut in the 2003 musical comedy Camp.

Craig Robinson Grows Horns, Rob Corddry Grows a Moustache in Exclusive ‘Rapture-Palooza’ Pics

When the stakes are high — like, Armageddon high — the clean-shaven look won’t really cut it: what you need in any apocalyptic adventure is a moustache. And lo and behold, Rob Corddry dons one hell of a nose neighbor in these new, exclusive pics from Rapture-Palooza. Corddry’s character Mr. House teams up with his son Ben (John Francis Daley) and the film’s heroine Lindsey (Anna Kendrick) to take on the formidable force of the Anti-Christ… played by none other than Craig Robinson, Corddry’s Hot Tub Time Machine compadre.

These images depict Robinson in truly hellish form: covered in blood, sprouting horns, and spreading propaganda via cheap posters. Check out the pics, and catch Rapture-Palooza in theaters and VOD on June 7. {hollywood.com}

MTV Movie Awards: Celebrity “Catfish” Spoof

Anna didn’t attend last nights MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Rebel Wilson and attended by her Pitch Perfect co-stars, who accepted the award for Best Music Moment and did a live performance as the Barden Bellas, but she did tweet them good luck, and per-recorded a short for the show. Anna plays a texting obsessed version of herself alongside Mark Wahlberg, Joe Monijello, MTV’s Josh Horowitz, and the hosts of Catifish.

Rebel Wilson has been one busy lady, preparing to host the 2013 MTV Movie Awards and setting up romantic dates with some of Hollywood’s hottest.

Or has she? That’s what “Catfish” hosts Nev Schulman and Max Joseph helped MTV’s Josh Horowitz find out during the MTV Movie Awards pre-show.

You see, Horowitz has been in a year-long online relationship with Wilson (or, more likely, someone purporting to be Wilson) and has yet to meet his love in real life. So he enlisted MTV’s resident dating detectives to aid him in discovering the true identity of his Internet paramour. What they uncover is a tangled web — one ensnaring actors Mark Wahlberg, Anna Kendrick and Joe Manganiello. In short, it’s the first celebrity Catfish.

Click play on the clip above to watch the incredibly awkward results of Schulman and Joseph’s investigation!

Of course, this all leads up to the big show: the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, airing live at 9 p.m. ET. In addition to her hosting duties, Wilson will reunite with her “Pitch Perfect” co-stars, including Anna Camp and Skylar Astin, for an aca-awesome mash-up performance that’s not to be missed, while Selena Gomez and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will also rock the Sony Pictures Studios lot with their new singles. In addition, a trio of the silver screen’s finest will be recognized with special tributes. Emma Watson will receive the Trailblazer Award, Will Ferrell will be honored with the first-ever Comedic Genius Award and Jamie Foxx will take home the Generation Award.

And stick around after the show for a sneak peek at Vinny Guadagnino’s new series “The Show With Vinny,” airing at 11 p.m. ET.

MTV Movie Awards: Anna Kendrick Gets Catfished…a Few Times

Which celebrity would you most like to “mistakenly” hook up with online? During Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards pre-show at 8:30 p.m. ET, Mark Wahlberg, Anna Kendrick and Joe Manganiello fall victim to the first-ever three-way celebrity Catfish, captured by no less than “Catfish: The TV Show” stars Nev Schulman and Max Joseph.

This special installment of “Catfish” — not to mention all our live red-carpet coverage on the Sony Pictures Studio lot — leads up to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards at 9 p.m. Sunday. Watch a sneak peek of the unbelievable case of (multiple!) mistaken identities above, and find more good stuff at MTV.com and the MTV Movie Awards home!

In addition to seeing this “Catfish” delight on air, those tuning in early on Sunday will get to watch pre-show hosts Josh Horowitz, Karlie Kloss, Vinny Guadagnino and Christina Garibaldi provide viewers with exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the MTV Movie Awards red carpet.

‘The Company You Keep’ – New Clip

The Company You Keep’: Shia LaBeouf’s reporter knows how to cultivate a source — EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

If you paid attention only to the internet hub-bub generated by Shia LaBeouf’s tweets, quotes, and late-night bar brawls, you might forget that he’s still a darn good young actor who’s only beginning to tackle the mature adult roles that will eventually define his career. In The Company You Keep, he plays Ben Shepard, an Albany newspaper reporter who lucks into a huge national news story when a former member of the Weather Underground (Susan Sarandon) wanted for murder is captured in his backyard. Chasing down leads by hook or by crook, Ben follows all the clues back to Jim Grant, an upstate lawyer played by Robert Redford — appearing in his first starring role since 2005′s An Unfinished Life. It’s a clever conceit that fans of All the Presidents’ Men — Redford’s classic movie about the two real-life Beltway reporters who cracked the Watergate scandal — will appreciate. Redford certainly did — he directed this thriller.

In an exclusive video clip from the movie, Ben charms his way into some crucial information by visiting an old flame (Anna Kendrick) who now works in law enforcement. Watch it below:

Anna in FunnyorDie Video

Anna Kendrick goes K-Pop with F(x) :D

Anna Kendrick has become K-pop group f(x)’s new member in Funny or Die’s latest comedy video.

The Pitch Perfect actress is forced into joining the South Korean girlband by her manager, but finds it difficult to adapt and is mocked by her fellow group members.

However, through grit and determination (and a training montage and playing StarCraft), she eventually wins everyone over.

EDIT: Now here’s the behind the scenes look:

‘Drinking Buddies’ News

Anna’s new film Drinking Buddies, has been picked up for distribution by Magnolia pictures, which means we’ll see the movies in theaters soon :D . The improv comedy opened to amazing reviews at SXSW film festival.

There’s also an interview from SXSW where Anna and her co-stars *attempt* to talk about Drinking Buddies, amidst a heated wiffle ball game between director Joe Swanberg:

MAGNOLIA PICTURES TAKES NORTH AMERICAN RIGHTS TO JOE SWANBERG’S DRINKING BUDDIES

New York, NY (March 19, 2013) – The Wagner/Cuban Company’s Magnolia Pictures announced today that they have acquired North American distribution rights to writer-director Joe Swanberg’s DRINKING BUDDIES, starring Olivia Wilde, Jake Johnson, Anna Kendrick and Ron Livingston. Produced by Dark Arts’ Alicia Van Couvering and Andrea Roa; Burn Later’s Paul M. Bernon and Sam Slater; and Swanberg, the film premiered this month at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival. The film was executive produced by Mike Witherill, Ashley Bernon, Jessica Klapman, David Kaplan, Anish Savjani, and Wilde. Magnolia Pictures is planning a theatrical release for later this year.

DRINKING BUDDIES follows the lives of Kate (Olivia Wilde) and Luke (Jake Johnson) who work together at a craft brewery. They have one of those friendships that feels like it could be something more. But Kate is with Chris (Ron Livingston), and Luke is with Jill (Anna Kendrick). And Jill wants to know if Luke is ready to talk about marriage. The answer to that question becomes crystal clear when Luke and Kate unexpectedly find themselves alone for a weekend.

“Joe Swanberg has been evolving steadily as a filmmaker, and with DRINKING BUDDIES, he’s delivered his best work yet—a truly funny, smart and insightful film about real adult relationships,” said Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles. “Olivia Wilde, Jake Johnson and the rest of the cast also deliver some of the best work of their careers. We’re raising an imperial pint in celebration.”

“I feel tremendously privileged to work with such a smart, energetic and exciting company,” said Swanberg. “I had an amazing time working with the Magnolia family on V/H/S and I can’t wait to be their drinking buddy again. I just know they will do great things with the film.”

The deal for the film was negotiated by Magnolia SVP of AcquisitionsDori Begley and Director of Acquisitions Peter van Steemberg, with CAA on behalf of the filmmakers and producers.

Swanberg’s prior films include HANNAH TAKES THE STAIRS, ALEXANDER THE LAST, UNCLE KENT, SILVER BULLETS, and V/H/S.

Rapturepalooza-Gets-Red-Band-Trailer

December 21, 2012 came and went with a slew of films conquering the topic of armageddon following in tow, but Anna Kendrick’s upcoming comedy proves there are still a few jokes left to be made about the end of times.

Hitting select theaters and VOD May 10, Rapturepalooza stars Anna Kendrick and John Francis Daley as Lindsey and her boyfriend Ben who are left behind in suburban Seattle following the apocalypse. The young couple try their best to lead a normal life surrounded by talking locusts, blood rain showers, and pot-smoking wraiths. Anna Kendrick’s ‘Pitch Perfect’ song ‘Cups’ has been remixed for mainstream radio

Anna Kendrick has already enjoyed a few weeks on Billboard‘s Hot 100 with her breakout a cappella hit “Cups,” from the Pitch Perfect soundtrack. Now, in a sign of just how popular the movie has become since its December DVD release, “Cups” is getting pushed to mainstream radio. According to AllAccess, the song hits stations on March 26.

A longer, remixed version of the song recently hit the web — complete with strummy guitar and plinky xylophone — which you can listen to below. The folky sing-a-long is slight, for sure, but it’s also infectious, and Kendrick has a prettily sweet tone that makes it all go down easy.

Kendrick is something of a chameleon. At 27 years old, she’s already gone through a few image transformations. We first got to know her as a precocious, uptight worker bee in Up in the Air, which may have falsely implied thatthat was her real life persona. But she morphed herself into a nerdy/sexy Reddit gal over the years. And these days, she’s a savvy, potty-mouthed Twitter user, and the instant cult status of Pitch Perfect has earned her major cred with young fans. But are you ready for the next (potential) stage… Anna Kendrick: Chart Star? {entertainmentweekly.com}
