The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is now out in U.S. theaters! Reviews have been piling in, and overall Eclipse has been said to be the best of the three films so far. Anna’s performance as chatterbox Jessica Stanley has once again been highlighted as one of the best actors in the film :D. Here are some reviews that mention our girl:

When her classmate Jessica (the clever Anna Kendrick) gives a graduation speech proclaiming that this is the time to make mistakes, figure out who they want to be, to live, we all want that message to get through to stubborn Bella. {TIME}

The early reviews are positive. The first review from Variety’s Peter Debruge says all the right things. According to him, the movie’s more dynamic, edgier, better-looking, amping up both the action and melodrama. And there’s apparently more Anna Kendrick, which can only ever be a good thing. The Hollywood Reporter liked it too. {Cinematical}

As for the supporting characters, sadly Anna Kendrick’s presence is reduced to a minimal yet memorable moment in which she delivers a commencement speech and Dakota Fanning’s Jane and the Volturi are practically nonexistent, but we do get a closer look at two of the Cullens, Jasper and Rosalie (Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed). {Shockya}

Have you seen Eclipse? What are your thoughts?

On a side note, Anna also was apparently at the The Thirst Project Gala Honoring Drake Bell on June 29, but we are yet to find any photos or media of her from the event. The Thirst Project is an organization that helps third-world countries have clean drinking water. You can find out more about it at thirstproject.org.

Twilight’s Anna Kendrick Hearts Harry Potter

Anna Kendrick may star as the fun, fast-talking friend Jessica in The Twilight Saga, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have eyes for another supernatural movie series.

Last night, when the trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows premiered, Anna tweeted: “Deathly Hallows trailer online in 30! …………wait, what? NO, I didn’t say that, that would be so dorky…………. *squeee*”

And she followed that with another tweet after watching it. “HP7 trailer = That. Was. Awesome. It would be really awkward if I bought a ticket to Eclipse just to see that on the big screen, right?”

Ha! We say buy that ticket for your own movie to see the trailer on the big screen, Anna! (How cool would it be to see Anna in your theater?! Just don’t bother her during the HP trailer! ;) )

Leave it up to Anna to bring together the wizarding and vampire/werewolf worlds!

Anna Kendrick’s “life goal” is to learn how to play pool

The Hollywood actress has seen her career soar in recent months, thanks to starring roles in Up in the Air, alongside George Clooney, and the Twilight film franchise. Although she is enjoying her job, Anna still has some things she wants to accomplish in life. Top of the list is to learn how to play the popular cue sport, because she thinks it looks so fun.

“I really want to learn to play pool,” Anna is quoted as saying. “I don’t want to be one of those chicks in a bar that you know, needs her boyfriend to set up a shot for her. So that’s a life goal for me.”

Pool is also known as pocket billiards. Players take turns to line-up shots, with the winner being the person who manages to pocket all their balls first.

Kendrick Praises Awards Rival Mo’nique

ANNA KENDRICK refused to be disheartened after failing to win any major acting accolades at this year’s (10) glitzy awards ceremonies – because she was delighted to see rival MO’NIQUE win a huge haul for her “humbling” turn in PRECIOUS.

The two stars went head to head for the Best Supporting Actress trophy several times earlier this year (10), at film events including the Golden Globes, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards and the Oscars.

Kendrick’s role in Up In The Air failed to land her any of the coveted awards, while Mo’Nique swept the board at most of the major ceremonies for her turn in Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.

But the Twilight actress refuses to hold a grudge.

She says, “There’s no way of saying this that doesn’t make it sound like I’m just trying to be polite but Mo’Nique gave such a humbling performance, that to see her win again and again didn’t make me feel bad at all.

“In a way, it took a lot of the pressure off because I didn’t feel that I was losing to a performance I didn’t admire. And I know it sounds cheesy, but it really was a dream come true to be at the Oscars – I never thought I’d get to be there.”

Holly and I have managed to get Anna’s recent appearances in gorgeous untagged high quality :D! More photos from the OMEGA Contellation launch and dinner have also been added.

I’ve also added some clipping of blurbs Anna is in, including quotes about asking Tom Cruise to take a picture with her at the MTV Movie Awards and a Twilight good-bye party for the humans. Anna’s MTV Movie Award’s Zac Posen dress is also compared to Scarlett Johannsen in a US Weekly fashion face-off. They chose Scarlett – DISAGREE!

Anna attended the launch of OMEGA’s new jewlery line Constellation, at the Ritz-Carlton in Los Angeles. Zhang Ziyi hosted the launch, while other guests included Maria Menounos and Adrien Brody.

Anna was interviewed whilst in England for the Daily Mail: How actress Anna Kendrick survived the Twilight zone. It’s a great read, and even includes some MQ outtakes from the Vanity Fair shoot! I’ve posted some of the most interesting bits (there’s a ton)!

On Twilight Fans:

Anna Kendrick slips without fanfare into the lobby of the West Hollywood hotel where we are scheduled to meet: some achievement given that she’s part of the teen-idolised Twilight cast, whose every move is usually accompanied by ear-splitting shrieks from adolescent fans. But Anna insists: ‘I’m one of the few who gets to leave home and not be followed around. Actually, when I do get children coming up to me, it makes me slightly nervous because I feel like I have to be on my best behaviour. I have a habit of cursing, so I have to keep it reined in. It feels like I’m visiting my grandmother!’

On Kristen:

‘When I met Kristen, I knew her from some of her other films,’ says Anna, ‘and it’s so strange because she turned into my friend, and then just as quickly turned into one of the biggest stars on the planet. I’m on the outside and I really don’t know what to make of it even now. I can’t imagine what she and Rob are going through.’ Particularly as Kristen and Rob have themselves been dating since last year.

Jacob Vs. Edward:

Of course, going through a romantic quandary with chaps who look like Mr. Pattinson and Lautner isn’t a bad problem to have, as the predominantly female fans of Twilight, or ‘Twihards’, will attest. ‘But seeing how much in love these girls are with Rob or Taylor, it’s kind of hard to understand,’ says Anna. ‘I mean, they’re like siblings to me now, and if I had to choose between them, it would feel really creepy. I’d have to think of them in terms of [their characters] Ed and Jacob – and in that sense, I’d root for Jacob because he never leaves Bella’s side. But having to pick one?’ She is momentarily flummoxed. ‘Well, I don’t think either of them is my type. I’d like a guy who looks a little more goofy and who is less intimidating – they’re both lovely, but almost too perfect-looking.’

Clooney Crazies:

Anna witnessed plenty more female light-headedness when filming scenes with George Clooney for Up in the Air, the Bafta award-winning film by Jason Reitman. ‘We were shooting in a hotel lobby one time and every woman who passed by was just drooling over George and collapsing at his feet – it was crazy,’ she says. ‘It’s actually quite upsetting to see grown women turn into monkeys around him. I wanted to say: “Ladies, get it together – you’re embarrassing yourselves and our gender!”’

Living in New York during ‘High Society':

During her Broadway run, Anna lived in New York with her father, William, then a supply teacher (her mother Janice works as an accountant). ‘It was great to have my father there,’ says Anna. ‘I hope they don’t mind me saying this but a lot of theatre children can be intense, and some of their mothers can be too: they would be there listing their child’s accomplishments and my dad and I would just look at each other.

‘I was grateful my father was there to keep me grounded. And I’m glad that I started out in theatre. Doing eight shows a week instils a good work ethic. You’re much more mollycoddled on a film set and I wouldn’t have wanted to start my career that way.’

Middle School in Maine:

Home-schooled by her father for the duration of her Broadway run, Anna returned to school in Maine afterwards. ‘People always ask if I went back feeling more confident, but I felt exactly the same as I had always done. I was quite shy and I don’t think insecurity is something a trip to New York can cure you of,’ she admits.

‘At that age you have that dual thing of wanting attention and being afraid of it, and I perceived any attention [from classmates] as negative. There was one girl who sort of tormented me. She was the kind of person who could turn everything I said on its head. Even if I said: “The sun’s come out”, she’d be like: “Oh, and that’s because you’re better than us, is it?” I’m sure she’s grown up now and I don’t wish any bad on her, but it certainly affected me at that age. Maybe I put some of her into my portrayal of Jessica in Twilight, so it worked out in the end.’

A little while ago Anna tweeted about a charity she is very supportive of — No Worries Now Prom, which allows terminally ill kids the chance to attend prom. This years NWNP Prom recently took place, and CNN reports that Anna was on their red carpet with the prom attendees:

The No Worries Now prom is geared toward teens who have or have had a life-threatening illness. A network of pediatric hospitals and organizations helps spread the word to teens, who can RSVP for the event on the foundation’s website.

Scarf’s foundation offers all attendees and their guests donated dresses, tuxedos, shoes and jewelry. They can also receive free hair, nail and makeup services, as well as wigs.

This year’s prom was held at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles, and it had a Hollywood feel. Actresses Anna Kendrick and Monique Coleman were on the red carpet with the prom attendees, and rappers Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube were among those who appeared in pre-taped message videos.

The event featured DJs and a professional break dance troupe. Caricature portraits and a photography booth were also included, as well as all-you-can-eat dinner and dessert. . . . {CNN}

Anna was asked to join the Academy of arts and sciences, which means she will get to help choose the Oscar winners in the future. Many other 2010 Oscar contendors seem to have been asked, to:

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences extended invitations today to 135 top actors, filmmakers, and studio execs — plus Bono, the Edge, Adam Sandler, and Tobin Bell — to join the Oscar-bestowing organization. Other notable members-to-be: T-Bone Burnett, Vera Farmiga, James Gandolfini, Anna Kendrick, Mo’Nique, Carey Mulligan, Jeremy Renner, Ryan Reynolds, Saoirse Ronan, Zoe Saldana, Gabourey Sidibe, and Christoph Waltz. We hope the Oscar-voting half of U2 at least lets Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. borrow their screeners. {NY Mag}

This is awesome, but I hope Anna is still able to participate in the Oscars herself, since she is bound to get one soon!

I recorded and capped both the Myspace Livestream and MTV Livestream. Unfortunately the Myspace video doesn’t have audio, but Anna pretty much talked to both interviewers about her upcoming projects and how she is wanting to take a break after I’m with Cancer and just drive across the country. After Anna’s myspace interview, she greets and hugs Quentin Aaron from the Blind Side. Anna also mentioned that she is definately going to be going to Comic Con this year, and will be taking her mom. She also apparently loves watching Lord of the Rings and has annual marathons of the extended additions! Who knew?

Eclipse Premiere – MTV Livestream

[cpg_album:330,4]

Anna Kendrick can completely relate to the throngs of “Twilight” fans who spent the last few days camped out outside the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles for the “Eclipse” premiere. In fact, there was a time in Kendrick’s life when she did the same exact thing, except her object of devotion was a rock band. And then there’s her whole “Lord of the Rings” obsession, too.
“I camped out to see the Strokes. I was obsessed with Julian Casablancas. I had a huge crush,” the Oscar nominee revealed to MTV News about her fandom at the “Eclipse” premiere. “And I was and still am obsessed with ‘Lord of the Rings.’ I do an annual marathon of the extended editions. It’s hard-core.”

While plans for a Strokes biopic have yet to be announced, it seems that Kendrick can at least live out her “Lord of the Rings” fantasies in the soon-to-be-made “Hobbit” flick. “Believe me! I spend many nights wondering that!” she explained. “This is officially my feeler.”

So would she be up for playing Bilbo Baggins, originally played by Ian Holm? “Cate Blanchett did it!” she laughed, referring to the actress’ role in “I’m Not There.” “She was Bob Dylan!”

Of course the night’s big topic was “Eclipse” and its killer music. “I’m blown away by the soundtrack. And Metric’s one of my favorites,” she said of the band, which has a song on the soundtrack. Luckily Kendrick will have more than one chance to hear them. “Metric does tracks for ‘Scott Pilgrim’ too, so I’m feeling awesome about summer movies.” {MTV}
